Reaching out with the Love of Christ to individuals, our community, country and world.
HPC does mission both locally and at a distance.
Locally, we participated in feeding children and families last summer, when free lunches at schools were no longer available.
Our quilting group, in addition to making quilts for every baby baptized in the church, has made mosquito nets for Africa and quilts for Buckhorn Children's Center.
Other mission outreaches of HPC include:
- Women's Reformatory Ministry
- Habitat for Humanity
- Hilliard Food Pantry
- Bloodmobile
- Serrv
- Souper Bowl Hunger Program
- One Great Hour of Sharing
- Peacemaking Offering
- Joy Offering
Mission Trips
Doing Mission with more than our money
We do at least yearly mission trips, which in some years have included a full tithe (10%) of our membership going to spend a week rebuilding houses destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, or doing building and demolition in Appalachia.
From June 8 - 14 of 2008 we will be going to Staten Island NY to work with Project Hospitality. The Project works with issues of homelessness, hunger, poverty and AIDS/HIV. Our group will be working in soup kitchens, homeless shelters, social programs for people who are affected by HIV/AIDS, and food and clothing pantries.
We have a long-term relationship with HOMES Inc., in Neon, Kentucky, and will be returning to Neon from September 28th - October 4th.
Sales of "Stock" in our mission trip are sold annually to financially supplement these trips. Stockholders recieve daily updates via email, letters, an invitation to a special meal & report after the trip, and the ability to participate even if they cannot go on the trip with us. Contact the church office to get your stock certificate now!
