Welcome from the Pastor
Friends,
I want to welcome you to the worship and life of Hilliard Presbyterian Church. The congregation has been here for about 50 years, ministering to Hilliard and the surrounding area. We are situated on Leap Road on 6+ acres of grass and trees with plenty of parking and ‘space to run’.
Our worship life is central to who we are and how we know God, but our life together has many other parts. We have a complete education program under the guidance of our Director of Christian Education, we have Presbyterian Women, our Senior Lunch Bunch meets monthly, Youth groups are important to how we support families.
Mission is an important part of our life, both locally where we support the local food bank and do short term projects, and nationally as we have taken Mission Trips to Washington, DC to work with the homeless, to Florida to work with survivors of hurricanes, and several trips to work with HOMES, Inc in Neon Kentucky building homes for people who need them. This summer we will be going to Staten Island, NY to work in an interdenominational program which assists homeless and those suffering with AIDS.
Yearly we enjoy our Giving Tree, a project we share with a local Baptist church as we are able to provide gifts to children and families who would otherwise receive very little at Christmas. Frequent unexpected needs arise which give us additional chances to share God’s love.
If you are new to our area or are looking for a worshipping congregation to call home we welcome you here. Please call or come to worship with us. We’d love to meet you.
Peace,
Jim Browne
Pastor
Worship at Hilliard Presbyterian
The worship life you will find here at HPC is vibrant, basically traditional in form, and full of good music. In addition to lots of Scripture and preaching keyed to the Common Lectionary you will find our Chancel Choir, smaller musical groups, a chime choir and several children and youth choirs. Our Director of Music leads and encourages all we do musically. Visitors and new members tell us that when they first came to HPC they were pleased with the warm welcome they received and the Spirit filled worship.
We have two services, at 8:30 am and 11:00 am each Sunday as well as special services around major church holidays. The two weekly services are quite similar. We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of each month at the 11 am service, and weekly at the 8:30 am service. Communion is also celebrated on other appropriate days.
