Philosophy about Worship
Children:
Worship is where the members of God's family belong -- all of us.
If your baby is not ready to sit through a service, we have a professionally staffed nursery, and children up through kindergarten age leave the regular service after the Children's Sermon for a special Children's Church. Children older than that normally attend the regular service with their parents. We believe that they are part of God's family, and so belong in worship, and, in addition, that this is how and where they will learn to sit through a service.
Don't forget to pick up a special worship bag for each child -- it has pencils, crayons, paper, books, and other entertaining things.
Holy Communion:
The Lord's Table is just that, the Lord's. It is not ours to "fence around." All baptized believers in our Lord Jesus Christ are welcome to partake of the sacrament whenever it is offered.
Children should have an age-appropriate understanding of the sacrament (in the opinion of the parents). If your child is not ready to partake of the sacrament, simply ask the pastor or elder who is serving, and he/she will give the child a blessing, in order that he/she will not feel left out of this special event.
